I'm not sure Fox appreciated the way I handled this promotion. I was trying to be candid so that Stern wouldn't feel I was over-selling, and to be as honest as I could, but in retrospect they probably felt I was biting the hand. Stern hated the idea that, as with most puppet characters, the puppeteer was not supposed to exist. I didn't want them to think we were afraid of admitting that Greg was a puppet, hence my making an appearance as myself. Stern was a big fan of puppetry as a kid, so ultimately I think we won him over when he realized we were just some kids at heart, with a public access show who were realizing a show biz dream, rather than some corporate types who were trying to sell them the new Elmo.

Well fuck me everytime i see stuff like this i just get mad at the networks. Why is it so hard to understand that GtheB should be marketed to ADULTS and then give the show free reign to do their stuff and be creative?
Geez I wish Iowned a tv network because this show as it was done on IFC with a new twist that the creators can come up with on their own because they are not morons .... would be on my network.
