Even though the Fox show had been cancelled, MTV thought the red carpet footage from the Movie Awards was worth bringing me back to cover the VMAs for Total Request Live. I was in a tiny box with a hole in the top, wearing a headset so that I could hear what people were saying. I also had a microphone, and there was a tiny speaker on top of the box so the people could hear me talking. This was an insane and stressful experience. People are coming so fast that the PR people are literally screaming at you - saying, "HERE COMES BRITNEY!" Because if you didn't try to grab their attention right away, they might walk past. You're sweating, you can't hear a thing and you're staring at a tiny video monitor. My heart was racing so fast that I got totally nauseous and ended up going home after this footage was shot, giving my show tickets to my good friends and GTB helpers, Chris Bergoch and Kurt Leitner. On my way home, in a limo provided by MTV, I quickly met Robert Smeigel (Triumph) and told him how awesome I thought he was. This was the year that Triumph and Eminem had an argument on the show, which I watched LIVE on tv from my friend's apartment, with the first true migraine of my life. :)
