Well, as of today, the 17th of February, we are nearly half-way through our production of Warren the Ape. We took Warren to "upfronts" in NYC last week, where he appeared in front of an audience of advertising people and media buyers during a presentation of MTV's new shows. We rubbed elbows with Snookie and the Jersey Shore gang, as well as MTV's new crotch-kicking pranksters, the "Dudesons." So that's the kind of company we're keeping lately.
The presentation was a big hit

Well, it's been an amazing few weeks. The first two episodes are in the can and early cuts are going to MTV for notes. We're shooting the next two, and I am extremely happy with the footage we are getting. The shows are based on scripted outlines, and many of the scenes are being improvised by the human and puppet cast members on set. We're getting great stuff for the shows, and a wealth of material that will no doubt be mined for DVD director's cuts, viral clip reels and outtakes.
While not re…

Warren the Ape has begun its first two weeks of principal production!!! We're shooting at various locations in Los Angeles and using some of the crew from ITS ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA. We're working with an amazing group of folks, some new and some from previous productions. We've also begun working with some new puppet and human characters, including Josh Sussman from GLEE as Warren's personal assistant, and Chauncy the Bear. :)
We're hoping to shoot most of our first two episodes before t…

Hey all!
Just checking in to let you know that Spencer Chinoy, Sean Baker, Bill Freiberger and myself are writing outlines for the 12 episodes for "Warren the Ape," along with our longtime friend and collaborator, Chris Bergoch. MTV has approved of the first few outlines (which are highly detailed story arcs on which to base our improvised scenes) and we are slowly finding the tone and style of the show.
Hend Baghdady (Crank Yankers, Andy Milonakis) has been brought on to head our puppet produ…

Sorry for the lapse in updates lately, we're hoping there will be plenty more to announce as things move along for WARREN THE APE, our new show at MTV, which has officially been ordered by the network.
Deal negotiations are done, writing is in early stages and we're talking about trying to begin shooting before the end of the year, with 12 episodes in total to deliver in the first quarter of 2010!
WARREN THE APE is still taking narrative shape, but is a celebrity reality show following Warren…

Hey there! Got some good news, might as well start with the best:
OUR NEW MTV PILOT PRESENTATION HAS BEEN SHOT AND EDITED.
The current title is, "Warren the Ape." Yep, Warren finally got his own show. MTV is going to deliberate on whether or not to pick us up for series. Will post some production photos once I get my hands on em! Show went quite well - we were definitely working with a very thin budget, but we think we pulled off a fun little pilot. Warren gets his own reality show and attempt…

HOLY CRAP, WE SKIPPED APRIL!
Wish I could say that was an April Fool's joke. April? What April?
Well as this entry is made, we just completed two days of shooting new GREG THE BUNNY footage for our MTV pilot presentation. The shoot took place here in Hollywood, where we shot several scenes with Greg, Warren and a cast of humans.
The presentation is in editing stages and will be submitted to MTV by end of month. Meanwhile, we're still working to try and get some of our "lost" episodes up on IF…

Hey buttonheads! (Is that an acceptable GTB fan group name? We should hold a contest...) Anyway, I'm proud to report that we've continued to collect footage for our upcoming MTV pilot presentation for GREG & WARREN: AMERICAN SOCKS.
This time we shot a scene with our old friend Seth Green, on location at ShadowMachine Films, home of Robot Chicken. Along with our
Dr. Drew Pinsky shoot, this is the second cameo-related shoot…

GTB ON MTV?
As we continue to script and prep our pilot presentation for a potential MTV show starring Greg and Warren, we recently had the opportunity to shoot some footage with
Dr. Drew Pinksy, who sat down to interview both Greg and Warren about their pathological natures. Was a fun experience for all and we're thankful to Drew and the crew behind his show SEX WITH MOM AND DAD for making time for us.
See some photos of our therapy session in the…

NEW SERIES PRESENTATION
It's quality over quantity this month, as we have only one little tidbit to report - we have just finished the script for a presentation video for a new Greg the Bunny television series, entitled "Greg & Warren: American Socks." The presentation is being funded by MTV productions as a potential project for their network. It is being produced by Kevin Chinoy and Francesca Silvestri of GoFreestyle Productions, along with Co-Executive Producer and show runner, George Pl…

Hey all, quick entry on the latest from GTB and friends.
LITTLE ANNIE!
Robot Chicken Star Wars II has been nominated for an Annie award! Woo! That's one more free meal in this town for Dan MIlano. And one more tux rental. I guess they cancel each other out. Dammit. No free lunch in this town. ;)
NEW GTB TV SHOW
Been a lot of talk about us developing our "American Sock" concept for television as well as a possible spinoff for Warren the Ape. The latest is that we are in talks with a major cab…

Just a brief little entry to let you know what we're doing -- here's what's up for the month...

Just checking in to report on All things GTB --
POP ROCK INTERVIEW
Spencer Chinoy and Dan Milano finally recorded an interview for POP ROCK CANDY MOUNTAIN, which should be streaming on their site in another week or so, we'll put up a link when it becomes available. It was a fun interview, with a lot of details of our experience at Fox. We barely let the podcasters get a word in edgewise. :)

Well, the month has just begun, but here's what's going on:
GTB ON ITUNES
IFC has put several of our episodes up on ITUNES, for download from the Music Store. Click the link on our main page to see more! Keep in mind that some of these episodes are as they originally aired on IFC, which means that many of them were trimmed for airtime. For the full "director's cut" version of our episodes, the DVDs are still the best way to see them.
With any luck, Fox will put their version of the ser…
