GREG THE BUNNY and WARREN THE APE

IFC - GREG THE BUNNY WEBISODES – IFCTV.COM (2006)

To promote the 2006 season, IFC commissioned us to cut small documentary-based webisodes for their IFCTV website. Based on improvised interviews with the puppets, these small mini-docs go behind-the-scenes of our show and shed some light onto the lives and careers of the puppets.

1. “Daddy Issues”

Greg the Bunny comments on the passing of his puppet mother and his absentee (human) father. Warren the Ape provides insight into how Greg’s lack of a male role model left him starved for attention. Features details of Greg’s childhood, including a clip of Greg’s attempt to create his own robot father, “Daddybot.”

2. “Monster Puppets”

Intended as something of a companion to our “Monster” episode in season two. Through interviews with Pal Friendlies, Greg, Warren and the Wumpus himself, this mini-doc looks at The Wumpus, his life on the streets, abusive childhood and the shocking truth about his rather monstrous tendencies. Features information about the race of monster puppets (such as Elmo and Cookie Monster) and Wumpus going into a rage at the mention of the psychological trigger word, “jujyfruit.”

3. “The Greg/Warren Dynamic”

Greg the Bunny and Warren the Ape are considered by many to be something of a comedy team. Their conflicting personalities make for great comedy, but just how real is their on-screen distaste for one another? Apparently, very real. Features candid interviews with the ape and bunny about their problems with one another.

4. “SoXploitation”

As a follow-up to our season one episode, “Martian Serum Seven from Mars,” this documentary focuses on Count Blah and Warren the Ape, two puppet actors who have a list of puppet exploitation films (circa 1960s, 70s) in their repertoire. Learn of their work on films such as “Bad Po-Fo,” “The Bloodening,” “The Ningening,” and other classics of the genre.

5. “The Making of The Making Of”

Utilizing b-roll footage from the shooting of our interviews, this footage shows what it was like to work with the puppets in the making of our webisodes. See Blah make a horror show of the internet, Greg’s attempt to alter his image, Pal Friendlies’ pitch of the “Alf and Will Smith Untitled Buddy Cop Project”, and Warren’s obsession with putting cigars in his mouth.
