GREG THE BUNNY and WARREN THE APE

I'm here rootin' for GtheB and would love to see the show picked up and made better than ever on something like HBO or Showtime.

Warren could then be as crude as usual still and well Greg would be "Greg" I suspose.

We're working on it - back when we sold the show in 1999 our dream was to be on HBO, right beside "Mr Show with Bob & David." Unfortunately HBO and Showtime tend to buy from high-profile comic personalities (like Larry David) or film producer/directors like Alan Ball, so we'd probably have to team Greg up with a star actor or producer to get such a deal -- but you never know. We're always looking to pursue that avenue. Perhaps if our movie is produced and does well, it could lead to much better opportunities for a new series. Thanks for posting!
Team up with a star actor or producer, huh? Have you talked to Seth Green or Eugene Levy about it? Maybe even Gilbert Gottfried?
I agree. While I'm in the middle of trying to get a show off the ground I always LOVE seeing more puppet entertainment in the mainstream.

I would guess that everyone who frequents this area will be of the opinion that the world would be a MUCH better place if America could get over it's "puppets is for kiddies" obsession.

And we're all working to combat that every day. Puppetry is an art.

Sometimes its' art with bodily function humor and blue dialogue.

I really thought that a "puppet show" for adults was a fantastic idea. basically GtheB was just that except for the Fox days.

I still say that the Fox show would have been a big show had they given it a chance and stopped meddling with the creators ideas and concepts.

"His mouth should open" "His eyes should blink" I mean seriously shut up and let the creator's talents shine through instead of stifling creativity.
i love greg and the whole rest of the gang any way i can get them!! fox, ifc, junktape, anything in the future you can guarantee that i will support it!! my hubby and i love dan and the gang, thanks for all the laughs you have given us over the years and i can't wait to see what comes next!!

man i could see GtheB fitting perfectly on the adult swim line up on late night cartoon network.
Man, HBO would be a great place for the show! I agree!
HBO & Showtime have been our dream since 2000. Very hard to get stuff on those networks, however. Currently we're talking about doing a "reality show" starring Greg & Warren for MTV....
I would love to see the format of the fox series continued. I loved the human characters as well as the puppets. Seth Green and Eugine Levy were great, so funny. Is the actual format owned by Fox?

Why on earth did they cancel after only one series??
The format is owned by Fox. There were rumors that Fox later regretted the cancellation of Greg the Bunny (they also cancelled Family Guy, Futurama and Andy Richter around the same time) but we were a very expensive show to make, and that's a bad thing in the year of 9/11, and when compared to the first season of American Idol, which has become a smash hit at the fraction of the cost.

Not that our show NEEDED to be so expensive, but that's another story. :)

Unlike Family Guy, GTB is not an easy show to pick back up - big production costs, big celebrity salaries, etc. It would all need to be re-negotiated. So seeing another version of our Fox show is unfortunately not likely, though GTB could (in theory) try returning to Fox with a NEW format in the future.

"Warren the Ape," just finished shooting as a reality show pilot for MTV, and also features Greg the Bunny.
i had hoped for comedy central when it left fox. if you think about it puppetism is at an all time high. the success of comedians like jeff dunham, and terry fator. shows like avenue q on broadway. every kid grows up with sesame street, the muppet show and fraggle rock if your around my age ( 36 ).
any update to the movie idea?
